USAGE
The main product used is the seeds and to a lesser extent the leaves. Its use is basically as a condiment in many dishes of Mesoamerican and Caribbean cuisine. It has a sweet flavor.
MEDICINAL USAGE
Allspice is widely used in the Caribbean and Central America to relieve pain, upset stomach, and kill fungi and bacteria. Its use is recommended to prevent and eliminate intestinal gas, treat vomiting, diarrhea and other digestive disorders. It is also said to stimulate the appetite.
