The juanilama is considered by native cultures throughout America to be a very prodigious plant due to its ease of reproduction, its pleasant aroma and its medicinal properties. A single central trunk gives rise to multiple branches and leaves which are all used for these purposes.
USAGE
It has a pink flower which is also used for edible and medicinal purposes.
MEDICINAL USAGE
Well known for its ability to treat various digestive conditions. It is one of those plants that you should always have in the garden to combat gas, inflammation and in general all types of digestive system ailments. Recent studies are evaluating its ability to help stop stomach cancer. Other medicinal properties that are recognized are as anti-inflammatory and to treat rheumatic pain, liver and kidney problems. For all these conditions it is recommended to drink it in tea, hot or cold, regularly.
