CHARACTERISTICS
It is a herbaceous plant that has a bright orange rhizome that measures 10 to 15 cm. The central stem has long lanceolate leaves of a dark green color. Turmeric looses its leaves during the dry season and later they are reborn when the rainy season begins again.
USAGE
Highly appreciated as a spice in Asian cuisine, it is also used as a dye for clothing and in cosmetics.

se trata de una planta herbácea que posee un rizoma anaranjado brillante que mide de 10 a 15 cms. El tallo central presenta hojas largas lanceoladas de un color verde oscuro. Durante la época seca pierde sus hojas que luego vuelven a renacer al ingresar la estación lluviosa.
